Makupa Transit shade ltd(MTS)is a 3,200TEU and ISO certified container freight station strategically positioned on a 9-acre plot next to the Mombasa port with whom a common boundary wall and fronts the Makupa creek. Since its inception in 2009 it has been committed in providing logistics solution in handling different cargo segment seamlessly through the Mombasa port both local and transit namely:
- Containers: general purpose/dangerous/stripping/reefers/out of gauge
- Motor vehicles
- Steel/ pipes
- Project cargo
- Breakbulk(loose cargo)
Due to dynamics in demands and needs from our clientele we were compelled to diversify our services to include exports and consolidation which are certified and operative. Putting in mind of the nature and sensitivity in handling of such cargo a warehouse and weighbridge are in place.
Its proximity from the port and a private four lane access road fronting Makupa creek and overpass connecting the CFS to Nairobi-Mombasa highway sets it in a better position to handle the ever growing cargo volumes and the fastest throughput. Moreover, all government bodies KRA,KEBS,Port police,Port Health are hosted on site to facilitate verification and prompt release.

Security is top notch with installed state of the art CCTV cameras, high electric fence/perimeter lighting and a watch tower that operates 24 hours and customers are notified on cargo status by an automated email system ASCARI.
In order to partner and enjoy our services, the client(s) is required to direct their cargo to us by putting a nomination clause to read Makupa Transit shade Ltd(MTS) on the bill of lading done at the load port by notifying his relevant counterpart. In case the bill of lading has not been nominated it can be done locally 7days prior to vessel’s arrival through shipping lines.
